About the course
How we teach A Level Maths
All boards (Edexcel, AQA, MEI, OCR) are supported, but the Edexcel specification will be used as the exemplar during tuition. As with the new GCSE (9–1) there is an added emphasis on problem solving and applying skills in various mathematical contexts.
Whether the student requires targeted help in a number of key areas or more extensive support across a range of topics, the focus is on a clear articulation of the key concepts and techniques grounded in practice. Coherent course notes or workbooks containing exercises are provided. Students can, for no extra cost, take tests at the centre outside teaching times and receive feedback for continued improvement.
Students have differing needs and the sessions are planned around these. Each student should feel that they have achieved something important during these sessions and be able to work more confidently and independently at home or at school.
Tuition is available in any of the following formats:
- Face to face in small groups at our Beech Lane centre
- One-to-one lessons
*Intensive holiday revision courses are also available.

Tom
Tom has over twenty years’ teaching experience. As an examiner, he has reached the highest possible standard for Edexcel and Pearson and therefore can offer specific guidance on how to maximise students’ exam results on the new specification.

A Level Maths questions
How soon after coming will I notice a difference?
Usually within 1–2 weeks, but we all learn at a different pace.
What do I need to bring to lessons?
Just a pencil case and calculator. You will be given a dedicated folder to bring to each lesson.
Is additional revision available over the holidays?
Yes. We have a full revision programme with extra lessons in the February, Easter and May holidays. There may also be extra lessons during October half term — just ask.
