About the course
How we teach A Level Biology
Andrea has been seconded by the Department for Education to be an expert in biology education for the UK to the EU.
What students seem to value most are the structured notes which use mark scheme terminology and build a clear understanding in a concise framework. This understanding is consolidated using past question practice during lessons and for homework. Tests are given regularly and feedback provided to optimise grade potential.
Mock exams are conducted closer to the exams. Students who follow a full programme enter the exam feeling well prepared and confident. One-to-one lessons can accommodate specific learning requirements, and students who have previously underperformed in exams notice their grades improving. Intensive, small group lessons rapidly bring students up to date with the scheme of work.
Tuition is available in any of the following formats:
- Face to face in small groups at our Beech Lane centre
- One-to-one lessons
*Intensive holiday revision courses are also available.

Andrea
Andrea is a graduate of Durham University and has a PGCE from Keele University. She has over twenty years experience in biology teaching and departmental management in some of the top Grammar schools and tutorial colleges in the country.
Meet the whole teamTutors are very knowledgeable. They have a great understanding of exam boards. I particularly like the group interactivity and holiday revision lessons. Generally, I am more confident and can tackle a variety of questions.

A Level Biology questions
How soon after coming will I notice a difference?
Usually within 1–2 weeks, but we all learn at a different pace.
What do I need to bring to lessons?
Just a pencil case and calculator. You will be given a dedicated folder to bring to each lesson.
Is additional revision available over the holidays?
Yes. We have a full revision programme with extra lessons in the February, Easter and May holidays. There may also be extra lessons during October half term — just ask.
